How Brand Sobha Has Evolved Over The Years

With over two decades of experience of doing interiors of buildings and palaces in the Middle East, Mr. PNC Menon set up Sobha Limited in India to transform the way real estate is done in India. The company was incorporated on August 7th, 1995.
The company did its due diligence and it took full two years before Sobha launched its first residential projects Sobha Sapphire in Bangalore and Harishree Gardens in Coimbatore, in 1997.
Shortly thereafter, Sobha became the first Indian real estate company to obtain the ISO 9001 certification, triggering the real estate industry to implement the quality management system in their processes. Within a span of two years from launch, Sobha delivered Sobha Sapphire, thus setting the benchmark for timely delivery right from the beginning.
Confident and strong, Sobha set up its interior as well as glazing and metal works division in the year 2000, foraying into backward integration.
In the same year, the company took up contractual projects for Infosys and delivered their Corporate Block in Bangalore within a year.In the years that followed, Sobha completed several other projects for Infosys.
With the focus on becoming a fully self-sustainable organization, Sobha started its own training academy, with German experts, for training its workforce in 2003. Two years later the company had its own fully automated concrete division, completing its four pillars for a fully backward integrated company- concrete, metal & glazing, interiors and a training academy.
On the top gear now, by 2006 company got listed on BSE and became a public enterprise. The things that followed are a dream for any corporate. Sobha received DA1 and PR1 ratings by global analytical companies Crisil and Care respectively; Mr. P N C Menon was honored by the then President Smt. Pratibha Patil; the Company got awards like ‘Most Reliable Builder’, ‘Top Indian Real Estate Company’ by reliable platforms like CNBC, Dun & Bradstreet etc.Several other laurels for the company and the top management followed.
The company became a Rs. 10 billion brand in 2010 and by 2012 its net worth surpassed 20 billion. By now the company had its real estate presence in Bangalore, Coimbatore, Mysore, Thrissur, Pune, and Gurgaon and also a mattress division Sobha Restoplus under its name.
As of March 31, 2017, Sobha Limited is a Rs. 26 billion company with real estate presence in 9 cities and overall footprints in 26 cities and 13 states across India.
