The 4km Long Tunnel To The Airport Via Dwarka Expressway Will Change The Way People Travel To The Airport from Gurgaon!
January 5, 2018
Passengers travelling to the T3 Airport from Gurgaon can finally enjoy a big sigh of relief by 2020 (what is now a stressful, often bumper-to-bumper drive from Gurgaon). They can zip through a specially constructed 4km long link tunnel that will lead straight to the airport.
This long-awaited and much-needed project by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) will decongest the NH-8, which currently faces hour-long jams due to steadily increasing traffic from the thousands of new residents that the global city attracts every year.
This high-speed tunnel will be constructed alongside the existing underground Delhi Airport metro line that runs from T3 to Dwarka Sector 21 Metro station. Passengers from Gurgaon can take the Dwarka Expressway that runs parallel to the NH8 to reach the tunnel that will lead to the airport (and save their precious time).
The Dwarka Expressway in Gurgaon (which is nearing completion) is an infrastructure corridor of international standards in more ways than one. Home to some of the most luxurious and upmarket residential projects, the ecosystem of the corridor is planned to keep in line with a future-proof blueprint that will take care of the growing needs of the millennium city, including a speedy link to the international airport.
Other landmark developments coming up in the vicinity like the Rs. 26,000-crore international Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (ECC) planned in Sector 25, Dwarka, the biggest such center in South Asia and the 2nd Diplomatic Enclave in NCR, highlight the fact that this is not just one of the fastest growing areas in India, but one of strategic and high-profile importance.
A cursory glance at the large and important cities of the world will reveal a similar profile in terms of the way it is developed. Gurgaon, and specifically the Dwarka Expressway is being primed similarly.
